Why Is Emotional Resilience Important?
Resilience is seen as an ability to manage difficulties through developing a strong and internal locus of control, persevering, maintaining perspective, and a sense of humour.
Emotional intelligence and awareness enable us to understand, use and manage our own feelings, as well as to respond appropriately to those of others. Success in life is not always due to social status, education, or connections, but how RESILIENT we are.
Often those who” rise to the top” are no more “talented” than the rest of us, but they do have more EMOTIONAL RESILIENCE.
They easily “bounce back” from tough times. Love them or loathe them, some famous people are cases in point, for example, the (once bankrupt businessman) re-elected USA President, Donald Trump. Camilla Parker Bowles also overcame much resistance, to her marriage to the then Prince Charles, to eventually become the consort “Queen” Camilla. After a motor racing accident which left him a double amputee, young driver Billy Monger became a TV commentator for F1 and a competitor in the gruelling Ironman contest, raising money for charity in the process.
Emotionally Resilient People:
1. View difficulties as challenges and opportunities. They look at failures and mistakes not as a weakness, but as a chance to improve and develop.
2. Have clear goals and a drive to achieve both personal and work objectives.
3. Focus their time, effort and energy on events that they have some influence and
control over.
4. Accept responsibility for their own errors and find solutions.
5. Are aware of their own positive and negative thinking habits.
How Emotionally Resilient Are YOU?
In the hurly burly of modern life, we have largely lost the ability to process our negative emotions efficiently, we merely distract ourselves with something else in attempts to cover up what is bothering us.
Positive emotions such as feeling appreciated, gratitude, or delight do not harm us they give us a boost. However, if you feel unworthy, worried, abandoned, hopeless, unsupported, angry, or find yourself blaming others etc then there is work to be done!
An Emotion Code session will enable you to release and regain calm and peace of mind. A Belief Code session can remove any harmful negative beliefs and early years programming. Either or both can make you more RESILIENT!
