Who I Am & Why This Work Matters
The heart behind The Wellness Compass
A steady guide when life feels uncertain.
Helping people find their way back to calm, clarity, and emotional balance, wherever in the world they call home.

A LIFE SHAPED BY CHANGE
My work today has grown out of a life lived across cultures, countries, and constant change.
For over 20 years I served with the British Diplomatic Service, with overseas postings across the Far East and South‑East Asia, India and Pakistan, the South Pacific, West Africa, and Latin America.
It was a world of movement, pressure, adaptation, and emotional resilience and it gave me a deep understanding of what it truly means to start again, belong everywhere and nowhere, and carry unseen emotional weight.
When I later settled in Spain to raise my family, I became deeply involved in supporting the international community through language teaching, fitness, personal development, life coaching, and intuitive counselling. Again and again, I saw how emotional strain shows up quietly in the body, in relationships, in confidence, in health.
Emotional and physical wellbeing has been a lifelong passion of mine. Not as a theory but as something lived.

THE ORIGIN OF THE WELLNESS COMPASS
The name The Wellness Compass reflects how I see this work.
A compass doesn’t tell you where to go. It doesn’t force direction. It simply helps you find your own.
My role is not to fix you or lead you. It is to help you reconnect with your inner guidance, the part of you that already knows how to heal, settle, and realign.
Whether you are navigating stress, trauma, physical discomfort, or a major life transition, this work offers a way to gently return to yourself.

EXPERIENCE YOU CAN FEEL
Alongside my diplomatic career and counselling background, I have spent many years supporting people in crisis and emotional distress.
I was honoured to serve as President of the national mental health charity Samaritans in Spain, stepping down in 2021 after years of involvement.

This work taught me something essential: people do not need to be analysed to heal. They need to feel safe, understood, and supported in releasing what they have been carrying.
More recently, my work has focused on energy healing and wellness as a Reiki Master and Teacher, and as an official practitioner of the Emotion Code®, Body Code® and Belief Code® developed by Dr Bradley Nelson in the USA.
These methods allow deep change without reliving the past, without overwhelm, and without endless talking. They work with your subconscious and your body’s innate intelligence, gently, respectfully, and effectively.

WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK WITH ME?
Clients often tell me they feel:
-
Safe
-
Understood
-
Deeply relieved
-
Gently held rather than ‘worked on’
My approach is grounded, straightforward, and compassionate. There is no pressure to perform, explain, or revisit painful memories unless you choose to.
We work at your pace. Your system leads. My role is simply to listen in a deeper way.
AN INVITATION...
If something in these words resonates, you don’t need to analyse it.
Sometimes a quiet sense of recognition is enough.
You are very welcome here.

AUTHOR – BRAINS AT THE BORDER
In 2020 I published my first book, Brains at the Border, exploring the psychological and emotional impact of expatriate life around the world.
The book grew directly out of my own experiences and the stories of countless people I have supported over the years, those living between cultures, countries, and identities.
An updated and expanded edition is due for publication in 2026.
